Onslaught Game 4: vs Orcs and Goblins!

Yes, I only have one whole picture of this army.  I took a picture to start but when it came down to playing I got right into it and was distracted the whole way through.  This was a tight, close, tense game and I loved it!

The opponent this time around was Ryan Boyd and his horde of Orcs and Goblins.  Traditionally this is supposed to be a tough match up for Ogres.  Big hordes of strength 5+ on the first turn toughness 4 orcs, plus chaff and warmachines.  I knew I would face some armies like this so came prepared.  Redirect, single out, destroy.
Ryan brought a Lvl 4 Orc Shaman in a huge block of Big 'Uns with extra hand weapons.  He then had a big unit of Black Orcs you can see out on the right hand side.  Fifty or so night goblins with nets and a goblin caster, a mangler, an archer bunker with his BSB and some warmachines wrapped up his list.  This mission was  called Bloody Nose.  You got extra points if you hurt his general but didn't kill him.  Really weird idea that made no sense to me at all.   Deployment was dawn attack, again, my arch nemesis.  Luckily nothing was too strange or off so I was able to deploy more or less how I wanted.  My plan also came to fruition as I was able to use my cats to redirect his big units for a bit, allowing me to jump in with my own units and beat him up.  I actually used my cannon at one point to redirect his black orcs.  I had to give him up but it allowed my to flank charge him with my ironguts and absolutely destroy them.  My mournfang got his night goblins... and then died to a charge from his archer bunker!  GAH!  Of course, that means I got my ironguts into them, destroyed them, destroyed the Big Uns with my bulls and later irongut help and blam, done.  Another massacre.   Thank god for being able to stop Foot of Gork or him not getting it off.

Ryan was a fun opponent.  Obviously the pressure was on in this round as a clear winner would get propelled up in the rankings.   There were some very minor rules problems, but we figured them out or I just let him have it.  Sometimes when you are really far ahead you just let it go and let your opponent have a moment of glory.

So four games down.  Loss, Win, Massacre, Massacre!  That HAS to be good!  Wrap up to follow with my result and report card!
