Hitting the Ground Running!

So right after my last post, I sat down and got to work.  It felt good.  Except for me being sick as a dog.  My apologies for the blurry pictures.

Here is almost everything I have to do in the next 28 days (missing only the eagles, as they were in my priming tray):

A Most Impressive Start... but not for me.

I have to commend Wallshammer.  He's really hit the ground running with these Ogres, and it shows.  I'm very confident he'll have the army done by month's end.

I'm not as confident in my own project however.  So small is my confidence that I just put the Necrons up for sale.  I just can't get into them.  They've been sitting on my table, silently mocking me for over a week now, with almost no progress made on them.  So, instead of lamenting about not getting them done, I'm going to switch focus...

I just recently put the Necrons up for sale on our local site (oh, did I forget to mention that?  I moved from Vancouver and am now just down the street from Wallshammer.  I also got a job, and strep throat.  It's been a busy few months, hence the no-posting) as well as a ton of Vampire Counts, those Lizardmen I started last Fall, and a ton of Chaos Space Marines.  And some Warmachine stuff.  This is all in an attempt to clear my work bench and get focused on making some actual progress.

Since the big move, it's been hard to sit down and get started again.  Plus this new job is really taking my to my limits.  I have a busted neck, which was why I had a lot of free time before, as I was only doing part-time book-keeping.  This is full time work, and it's really taking a lot of adjustment.  I'm home at the end of the day and all I want to do is lie down.  But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so I really need to get back to painting, for peace of mind if nothing else.

So I'm going to go back to basics.  Eldar, High Elves and Dwarfs.  I have a TON of models to paint for each of those armies, and instead of getting distracted by shiny new projects, I'm going to focus on what I have.

To that end, I'm going to start with High Elves.  I have finally assembled and primed my 5 Dragon Princes and 20 White Lions, and add another Mage, 2 more great eagles, all my Sea Guard (50) and Phoenix Guard (20) and I have 2000 points.  Can I paint 103 models in 28 days?  Probably not.  But I'll do what I can and see how far I get.

I "finished" a unit of 8 bulls today.  Looking at pictures I can see a few things to work on later if I got time after everything else is done.  More after the break!

Yeah, it's definitely hard to keep going on this blog.  You get working and forget about it.  I will try to keep this somewhat regular if I can.  So, inside we will see a couple pictures of what is done, and some talk about my first 2 games with these hulking boys.  Follow me inside!

I'm starting off with 48 Warriors, 14 Scarab Swarms, 2 Lords, 6 Wraiths and the Nightbringer.  And I'm just getting warmed up.

WE RETURN... WITH A NEW QUEST OF DOOM!

So, those who followed us when we actually posted know I did a 1200pt Ork army in a month for a doubles tourney, and I think to a fairly good standard coming in second in painting.

Now, I increase the craziness.

2000 POINTS IN ONE MONTH!

Delays, Delays and more Delays. I SAID MOAR!!!

Yeah, lots of delays and lack of posting, we know.  But... we have legit excuses.

Sorta.  Well.. Green Feevah does.  He is in the midst of a big change in his life and shall be moving... closer to me!  That means the possibility of battle reports both in text and video format!  But only fully painted.  Not fully painted battle reports suck.

I work in grocery and it's Christmas time.  So, hence, I am busy as hell trying to coordinate staff and making sure customers are happy and making sure all my giant orders are ready.  The joys of this time of year.

We're still here though!  Green has a whole bunch of new stuff!  I've been painting up my Silver Skulls and played 4 games in our escalation league with them, going a better then I thought I would 1-2-1.  Not bad considering it's me playing vanilla marines for basically the first time.   We're moving onto 1500 now and I am painting up some drop pods, sternguard and a few bits and bobs for my army.  I really should take a picture.

But keep checking back!  I am trying to think of something come 2012 to really reinvigorate the blog.  Another army in a month or something.  :)
